What We Offer

It’s important to know that you’re not alone in your feelings. Developing your parenting skills, and getting encouragement and assistance along the way is crucial for each of us.

  • Free Parenting Classes

With classes such as boundary setting, healthy discipline, building self-esteem, and discovering your child’s personality type; we help you develop your parenting skills and make choices for your child that will enable you to reach your parenting goals.

Everyone begins the parenting journey at “square one”. We help you to learn and grow as a parent; enabling you to build a loving, positive, life-long relationship with your child.

Our locations host free parenting classes in Lancaster and Lebanon, PA. Contact us for more details or to sign up.

  • Earn Free Baby Supplies

Each time you arrive for your parenting class on-time and complete your homework, you will earn CARE cash that you can use in our Baby Boutiques to buy necessary and expensive baby supplies. We stock items such as formula, diapers, baby wipes, cribs, strollers, clothing, and more to help you provide for your child.

Do you have a specific item request? Let us know and we’ll search through our five Baby Boutiques located throughout Lebanon and Lancaster counties in order to find what you need. There may sometimes be a waitlist for more popular items. So, please let us know early if you are in search of a specific item.

  • Talk to Someone Who Gets It

Sometimes, what we need the most is to get real with someone we trust and express our feelings about parenting. We have all been challenged by a child’s tantrum and wondered if we handled the situation correctly.

Sometimes talking with a compassionate, non-judgmental person is exactly what you need to catch your breath. We are here for you!

Parenting FAQs

Are there eligibility requirements to attend classes?

We welcome all people who can benefit from our services. We serve everyone regardless of income, residency status, enrollment in other social services programs, etc. Our services are 100% free and available to anyone who would like our assistance.

Do I have to pay for the parenting classes?

No. Due to the generosity of our supporters; all services you receive at Susquehanna Valley Pregnancy Services (including our parenting classes, pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, post-abortion support, etc) are 100% free to you, our client.

I didn’t have good role models growing up and I’m afraid of “messing up”. Can you help me?

This is a common question we receive. Many of our clients did not receive the nurturing and care that they needed during their childhood. They deeply desire to “break the cycle” with their own children. Our free parenting classes, material assistance, and the encouragement you receive from your Advocate are important ways in which we support you as you heroically “break the cycle” and provide a better childhood for your baby than you yourself received. Contact us to get started.

I just have questions about a particular child raising problem, like how do I handle tantrums? Can you help me with this one issue without me needing to spend time on subjects that aren’t a concern for me?

Yes. Our parenting classes are “client directed.” This means that your Advocate will talk with you about your goals for the classes and then offer you options for classes that are available to you. Together you will choose an education path that meets your needs. Due to the popularity of our parenting classes, there may sometimes be a short wait for a class space to become available. Contact us to get started.

My child is already five years old. Do you still have classes that would help me as I parent?

Yes. Although our free parenting classes are targeted to help parents with children ranging from newborn to preschool; there are classes that you would find beneficial in parenting your five-year-old. Please contact us for a list of classes that you may find helpful to you.

Is there help available for me if I want to continue my education while I parent my child?

Federal law protects the rights of a parenting student who decides to continue her education while parenting and requires that learning institutions make accommodations for her. Please refer to the Title IX page of our website for details.

Do I have to be a Christian to benefit from your services?

No. We welcome all clients regardless of their spiritual beliefs. While all services offered at SVPS come from a biblical point of view; we believe that you have the freedom to make your own lifestyle choices, and to choose the SVPS services that are most helpful given your circumstances. As an expression of the love of Jesus, we offer all of our services free of charge to our clients.
